Owner of Buford Roofing & Construction, Maury Buford, grew up in small town Mount Pleasant, Texas. He attended college at Texas Tech University and married the love of his life, Dana. Buford was selected by the San Diego Chargers in the 1982 NFL draft. He won a Super Bowl ring as the punter for the 1985 Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XX. He was also a member of the “Shuffling Crew Band” in the video The Super Bowl Shuffle, “playing” his personal favorite, the cowbell.

Bryce was our contact to inspect and replace our roof. His input was invaluable in getting a much needed new roof. After having been denied several times by our insurance company, Allstate, in the past, a windstorm caused our roof to leak which literally rained into our home. Allstate was only going to replace that one section where it leaked, but It was abundantly clear that the whole roof needed to be replaced after years of hail and storm damage. Bryce helped us submit and negotiate our claim and Allstate FINALLY actually paid for a new roof. Buford Roofing did exceptional work with installing the roof, repairing the inside from the water damage, repairing/replacing facia boards, replacing window screens, and adding attic soffit vents. They also cleaned and stained the affected parts of our pergola and fence from all the hail damage. Hopefully, I'm not leaving any trade out.The turnaround on getting everything done was exceptionally fast, and the communication back-and-forth with Bryce and his subcontractors could not have been more efficient. Five stars are well deserved and I would recommend this company to everyone!

This is an edit of a previous review, based on a subsequent larger job they did.Where to begin? Finding a contractor to work on your home can be a scary process. Are they insured? Will they complete the job? Are they trying to overcharge you? You could take your chances with a random Google listing, or you could call Buford General Contractors and get real professionals.Our job was a complex one. Our house is 40 years old and was suffering considerable wood rot on the deck that had spread into the side of the house. This caused not only a rickety, rotting deck, but water leaks in the house where the wood had rotted through. Not good!What started as a simple deck resurfacing turned into a complex job involving rebuilding the deck stairs, ripping out the old rotten wooden deck surface, replacing it with more durable surfacing that was resistant to rot, and this is the most hairy part.....finding the source of those water leaks and stopping them.One great thing about Buford is that they have great relationships with local subcontractors. If something is not their specialty, they have a Rolodex of numbers they can call for vetted, quality contractors to assist. This job required many specialties, and they coordinated with specialists to give us a great job done the first time.When big storms came after the job and there was still some leaking, they had a man onsite that day who quickly identified the source of an additional leak coming from rotted trim boards above the deck. This was very good and totally not their fault, as the trim boards above the deck were not part of the deck resurfacing, stair rebuilding and wood rot remediation of the deck itself. The price for this additional work was more than fair and it was done quickly and professionally.Seriously, if you live around Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville or HEB, call them. They were always prompt, professional and reasonable. Not too expensive and not too cheap. You get what you pay for, after all.Seriously, call them. Just do it.

The entire roofing crew was amazing. They worked around my flowers and shrubs and cleaned up. The roof looks great. The fence crew (3 great young men, who I would recommend to everyone) also replaced an old gate and stained a large privacy fence. This time around, they also did some gutter work and interior wall patching and repainting which turned out great. Marty is a man of integrity and extremely personable and easy to work with. The work crew was polite and professional, and worked fast. They took several quality control photos and returned twice to make sure all was cleaned up. The city stopped by unexpectedly a few days later to check the furnace venting connections for carbon monoxide leaks - everything passed with no issues. I have been dealing with a leak around a chimney box for almost 30 years. Contractors didn't want to mess with the roofing, roofers didn't want to mess with the structural part. Finally found Buford Roofing Contractors, and they didn't bat an eye. Have had storms since and definitely fixed. A thorn in my side finally resolved. Giving one star because zero isn’t an option. Barrett came out and replaced 2 shingles and said and I quote I re-nailed down the loose ones. This was 5 days ago. Yesterday more flew off. Called and asked and was told in order for him to come back out to my house there was going to be an additional charge because those weren’t the two shingles that he replaced. Even though he said he re-nailed down the ones that were loose. Literally did not last five days see pictures.

Barrett answered all my questions, as insurance is pretty confusing nowadays, kept me apprised of schedules and timelines, the crew was early, worked very hard and didn’t leave until it was done. Their work was excellent, attention to detail outstanding and paint matching perfect. Barrett says they have been with them for over 15 years. Longstanding employees like that always speak well for an employer. Their bid was very competitive, they go the extra mile for their customers. From what I read on Nextdoor, many people are being ripped off by shoddy, dishonest “contractors”. Barrett and Buford General Contactors have integrity and are honest, which almost seems a rarity these days. So happy and satisfied with their work. In April of 2024 I filed a roof damage claim with Allstate, my homeowner insurance provider. Shortly before I filed the claim, I contacted Buford General Contractors in order to get an inspection of my roof and to get help in understanding the process involved in making such a claim. Mr. Buford performed the inspection at no cost and confirmed that the roof had significant hail damage indicating that a claim was well justified. He then continued to accompany me through the entire claim process, and his company performed the roof replacement quickly and thoroughly. He provided proof, including photos and rationale, to the Allstate adjuster of needed replacement items that fell outside the original Allstate estimate. Because of his persistent follow-ups of these claims back to the adjustor, Allstate ultimately increased its original estimate by approximately $4,000. I am very pleased with my new roof and especially with Mr. Buford's tireless advocacy in my behalf throughout the entire ordeal.

He also took care of preventing future damage by identifying and resolving leaks around our chimney. They did it all in one day and did such a great job cleaning up after themselves that the nice new roof was the only evidence they had been here! Bryce eager to get the job. But once he had it he was not eager to make right damage work crews did to my lawn. The new roof, associated work, coordinating with Bryce on insurance requirements and HOA approval is/was fantastic. When the work crew was on site, it was clear they made ruts in the front yard. Bryce met the news with denial and deflecting responsibility. When I claimed the repairs would be $300 he never responded. It's disappointing b/c until I made the call to let Bryce know that the workers had rutted my lawn, I was really, really pleased with Buford Roofing. Based on Bryce's handling of my claim and the marketplace I would likely go with Griffith Roofing if I could redo the decision.Follow-up (after owner response): I received the check. Not because the owner asked, I added a star to my review (3-stars before owner response/making it right w/ check). Thank you Dana.

I received a brochure from you today. it has been 3 years since you installed my roof and you still send things to my old address NOT the address I live at where you installed a roof for me. You charged me $150.00 to give a quote for a roof on a house I was looking at buying and told me that if the home owner used you that you would refund me the money. By the way I spoke to no less than 5 roofers and Realtors who reccomend roofers and not a single one had heard of charging for a quote. Well I talked the home owner into using you and once I moved in I called to ask for my $150.00 back and was told it's in the mail. Two weeks later I call back to say I never got it and was told it was sent to my previous address to which I reminded you that I bought and moved into the home you did the roof on and made sure you had my address. Ok the checks in the mail. I called back 2 weeks later to say I never received it and was told you weren't in the office to discuss it and was promised a call back. A week later I call again and was told the same thing. The next 4 to 5 phone calls over the course of about 60 days resulted in the exact same response of this will be handled and I would be called back. You clearly have call ID because eventually my calls went unanswered and dispite leaving messages no return calls. So no... after 3 years the home owner of my PREVIOUS address gives me your... "New year new us" brochure addressed to me I will NOT be referring you to anyone. oh and here is a little extra tidbit for anyone reading... your "crew" that did the roof of my wife's uncle's house in Benbrook... he pulls up to beer lids in his driveway and the men smoking a joint in his front yard. Yes a call to you rectified the situation but it never should have happened in the first place. Stop sending me your crap brochures. I would call to ask you to stop but again...you stopped answering my calls. And I was just reminded of something else... you didn't seal a seam where my flat and pitched roof come together and the roofer I called out after my sunroom flooded wanted to know who I used and I gave him all your info.

If you need a new roof, look no further than Buford Roofing and Construction in Grapevine. We had to replace our existing roof due to recent storms and these guys were pros. The crew came out early on day one and worked until the sun went down. They finished up late on day two and the clean up was so good you couldn't tell they had been here. The timberline shingles they used with the Z ridge look great and make our home look like it just went up in value. (don't tell the tax man) If you think roof, think Buford!
